LOCAL TRAFFIC ADVICE - Watt Road Closure

Greater Shepparton City Council wish to advise local motorists that Watt Road will be temporarily closed on Wednesday 17 May 2017, to facilitate works on the roadway and bridge.

To minimise disruption to the traveling public, the closure is planned from around 9:30am after the morning peak, re-opening around 3:00pm before the afternoon peak.

Works to be undertaken include:

  • the erection of new height bars on the bridge, replacing the previously damaged restrictors
  • minor bridge repair works
  • repair of potholes and damaged edges
  • renewal of some of the road line-marking

The new height bars are required to restrict larger commercial vehicles from using the bridge and overloading the bridge causing damage to the bridge structure.

Council advises local motorist to seek alternative routes and thanks them for their patience during these necessary works.
