Greater Shepparton City Council are encouraging locals to nominate for the 2016 Premier’s Volunteer Champions Awards.
The awards celebrate and recognise the vital role that volunteers play in creating happier, healthier and well-connected communities in Victoria.
The latest figures show that more than 1.5 million Victorians – that’s more than a third of the population – participate in formal volunteering.
To acknowledge the growing numbers of Victorians who give their time and skills, this year, up to 60 volunteers will be recognised with awards.
The Premier's office want to hear from you about volunteers who fit the following categories:
The Premier’s Volunteer of the Year, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Award, will be chosen from recipients across all categories.
Award recipients and their nominators will be invited to a celebration and ceremony in December 2015 in Melbourne.
Find out more and nominate outstanding volunteers today at www.volunteer.vic.gov.au/awards
Nominations close 5pm Tuesday 9 August 2016.
