Greater Shepparton City Council is disappointed that vandals have caused senseless damage to the off leash dog park at Ducat Reserve in Shepparton.
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Director of Infrastructure Phil Hoare said “This behaviour by individuals shows little or no regard for our community and is extremely disappointing.”
“The cost of repairing the damage and replacing equipment of this senseless vandalism is ultimately borne by ratepayers.”
“The vandals have stolen fence panels and the newly installed shade sail has been stretched and is no longer usable the cost of the repairs will be in the order of $5000.
“We have already undertaken works to repair the fence so that the facility can be used however the replacement of the shade sail will take some time”.
Greater Shepparton City Council encourages members of the public to report any vandalism to the Police.
