Greater Shepparton City Council is calling on locals who want to build their leadership skills and have an aspiration to contribute to their community, to apply for the 2025 Community Leadership Program.
In Summary
Celebrating its 12th year, the Community Leadership Program is tailored to nurture emerging grassroots community-focused leaders. The program is a unique opportunity for community members to enhance their leadership skills and build their capacity for personal and professional development as community leaders.
The 2025 Council funded program consists of seven engaging workshops, carefully designed to build participants’ capacity across various essential topics, including:
This comprehensive curriculum ensures that participants gain a well-rounded understanding of community leadership. The program is scheduled to commence in May 2025, with sessions held in person, providing participants with the opportunity to fully engage with the content and network with their peers.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, highlighted the program’s impact on shaping future leaders and strengthening the Greater Shepparton community.
“The program continues to be a vital stepping stone for emerging leaders in Greater Shepparton. Over the past 12 years, it has empowered individuals to make a real difference in their communities,” he said.
“If you are passionate about making a difference and want to develop your leadership skills, this is a fantastic opportunity. I encourage anyone interested to apply and be part of something truly rewarding.”
The 2025 program has limited availability, with only 20 places open for aspiring community leaders. Applicants must be 18 years or older and applications open on Monday 3 March 2025. The deadline for applications is Monday 31 March 2025.
