Community groups are encouraged to apply for funding through Council’s grants programs before this round closes at the end of July.
The Our Sporting Future, Community Arts Grants, Small and Large Event Grants, Festive Event Grants, Australia Day Grants, Greater Health Grants and Community Matching Grants programs are all currently open for application.
Council’s Director Sustainable Development Johann Rajaratnam encouraged groups to get their applications in.
"So far we haven’t received many applications, so groups should get to work on their applications to avoid a last minute rush. If you have any issues submitting your application, our staff are more than happy to assist you,” Mr Rajaratnam said.
“Our grant programs cover events, sports infrastructure and facility development and we have recently launched a number of new grants; Greater Health Grant, which encourages local groups to improve health and wellbeing through health promotion initiatives.
“We also have new grants for Australia Day and Festive Event grants, which are available for events which aim to support and strengthen the community by coming together to celebrate festive events.
“There are so many projects which can be funded. If anyone is interested, I encourage you to get in touch with Council and have a chat about your project.”
