Greater Shepparton City Council wishes to advise the community that works to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Packham and Brauman Street will now commence from Sunday 5 March to Friday 17 March 2017.
The works originally scheduled to commence December 2016 are part of the overall redevelopment of the Greater Shepparton Regional Sports Precinct.
During the works, full traffic management will be in place at the roundabout. Brauman Street will remain open to traffic, however delays will occur at times
Mawson Constructions Pty Ltd will undertake the works including the relocation of pedestrian lighting, road pavement construction, hotmix asphalt, concrete works and line marking, all improving traffic movement.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Steve Bowmaker apologises for any inconvenience the works may cause and asks for the community’s compliance with the traffic management in place for everyone’s safety.
“The completed works will provide benefits to the community as they ensure safer facilities for pedestrians, cyclists, buses and cars,” he said.
“Nearing the completion of this overall $21 million redevelopment is exciting for our city. The redevelopment will establish the precinct as a nationally significant sporting complex, enhancing Council’s ability to secure and retain new major sporting events and national championships that might normally be held in capital cities or interstate,” said Mr Bowmaker.
