Greater Shepparton City Council Councillors, Executive and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of former Councillor and Mayor Bruce Wilson.
Bruce served as a Councillor for the Wilmot Ward on the Borough and City of Shepparton from 1970 to 1981 and served as Mayor in 1975. Bruce served as a Councillor with Greater Shepparton City Council from 1997 to 2008 and served as Mayor in 1997.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Cr Dinny Adem says Bruce will be remembered for his work as a committed councillor and first Mayor of the newly formed Greater Shepparton City Council.
“Mr Wilson will be remembered for his work with the Greater Shepparton Heritage Advisory Committee and in the establishment of Carols by Candlelight. He was a tireless advocate for Greater Shepparton and contributed much to our city. He will be sadly missed,” said Cr Adem.
