Greater Shepparton City Council contractors will continue to work along Verney Road between Ford Road and Hawkins Street until 31 March 2015. During the works the road will be closed to traffic.
The two gas supply pipelines crossing Verney Road have been relocated, allowing for the drainage works to continue along Verney Road. Drainage pit works have commenced at Ford Road to allow the new drainage system to be connected to the existing system
Stage one of the Verney Road works will be undertaken by Mawson Constructions Pty Ltd and will include new underground drainage to construct new storm water drainage along the road centre line, road pavement construction, hotmix asphalt, concrete works, line-marking and furniture.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director of Infrastructure, Steve Bowmaker, said “The works are progressing well and are currently on schedule; however delays to the works may occur if we experience inclement weather, such as heavy rain.”
