Greater Shepparton City Council is delighted that Visit Victoria has launched the official program for White Night Shepparton.
White Night will shine a light on Shepparton for the very first time on Saturday 25 June through magnificent pieces of work created by artists from Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley alongside national and internationally recognised works.
The full program involves sparkling light beams and lasers, stunning projections, mesmerising music and radiating installations which will transform the Victoria Park Lake precinct and surrounding areas into an illuminated wonderland. The full program is available to explore on the official White Night Shepparton website.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Kim O’Keeffe said this was an event not to be missed.
“Hosting White Night is an incredible experience for our region, as this will not be like anything they have put together before. Unique to our region’s environment and community, the program showcases works focused on Indigenous culture, multiculturalism and native animals, flora and fauna,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
“The program incorporates distinctive features of Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley including the new Shepparton Art Museum, Victoria Park Lake, Aquamoves, Monash Park and the streetscape of Welsford Street presenting a truly unique experience for locals and visitors.”
White Night is expected to draw crowds upwards of 30,000 visitors to the event which is expected to deliver a $3 million boost to the local economy.
“We are working closely with local businesses, community organisations and artists to make sure this event is a success”.
“I encourage the community and visitors to embrace the White Night celebration so you can stay all night and play all weekend. If you haven’t already started planning your trip, book your accommodation, check out the menus from our cafes and restaurants and visit one of our unique attractions”,
Local businesses are encouraged to get in touch with Council’s Visitor Economy team to discuss how to leverage this event to maximise the visitor experience and expenditure across the region’s businesses for the weekend.
Register your special offers and trading hours for the weekend and have them listed on Visit Shepparton. For further business discussions email info@visitshepparton.com.au or phone 5832 9330.
