Youth mural at Victoria Park Lake

Greater Shepparton City Council is excited to announce the new youth mural at Victoria Park Lake.

The mural was funded through the Victorian Government’s Engage Fund, which aims to support youth projects.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Kim O’Keeffe said the mural reflects on the exceptional talent and creativity coming from the youth in our region.

“The Greater Shepparton Youth Committee have worked hard to put this mural together, as a reflection of what represents them. They have taken inspiration from our diverse region, linking the mural back to Country,” she said.

“Artist Tammy Lee Atkinson, along with help from Wendy-Sue Atkinson, was chosen to create the mural which is made up of Indigenous art styles. The vibrant, cultural mural represents the story of the rainbow serpent snake.

“I encourage all residents and visitors to get down to Victoria Park Lake and enjoy the wonderful art work.”

The mural is located on the side of the stage near the skate park at Victoria Park Lake.
