COVID-19 Quick Response Grant to facilitate businesses transitioning to online and e-commerce activities

Small to medium businesses in Greater Shepparton looking to transition to online and e-commerce activities are now able to apply for Greater Shepparton City Council’s Quick Response Grant.

The Quick Response Grant was introduced as one of 21 measures in the Stage 1 Economic Response to COVID-19 Package.

The total pool of grant funds is $120,000, and Council will support projects up to $3,000 per applicant as a one off grant in accordance with the guidelines.

The Quick Response Grant is open until all funds in the pool have been expended or until
1 August 2020.

Examples of expenditure that may be funded include:

  • Website design and development
  • E-commerce platform (selling online and receiving payment)
  • Online content development (web pages, mobile apps, audio and visual media)
  • Digital marketing and promotion
  • Mentoring and training in online and e-commerce activities

“Many of our local businesses have had to get creative and think outside the box in order to adapt to the uncertainty of COVID-19,” Mayor Cr Seema Abdullah said.

“This grant has been established as part of the Stage 1 Economic Response to COVID-19 Package to assist businesses through this change, and alter their operations to conform to State and Federal Government restrictions.

“We encourage our local businesses to apply for this funding, and hope it can provide some assistance to those who may be doing it tough at this time.”
