Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting the community to contribute their input to the development of the Draft Congupna Framework Plan by submitting comments from 19 September to 10 October 2019.
Congupna was identified as a Township that has the capacity to grow and offer a rural life style alternative in the Greater Shepparton Housing Strategy 2011.
Council has appointed SPIIRE Australia Pty Ltd to prepare the Congupna Framework Plan. The project draws on previous work undertaken by Council and the community for the Greater Shepparton Housing Strategy 2011, the Congupna Community Plan 2013 and the Greater Shepparton Townships Plan Review 2018.
The Framework Plan aims to identify strategic development opportunities, appropriate residential densities and to prepare a residential expansion framework that does not detract from the existing character of the township.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Sustainable Development Geraldine Christou said “residents’ perspectives and experiences are an important component of the Framework Plan that will guide the vision for the township over the next three decades.”
Council officers and consultants from SPIIRE Australia Pty Ltd will be hosting a public drop-in session on Thursday 19 September 2019. Community members are invited to call in to the Congupna Community Hall at Congupna Recreation Reserve, Katamatite-Shepparton Main Road, Congupna at any time between 5.00pm and 7.00pm for a chat.
Comments can also be submitted via email to council@shepparton.vic.gov.au, by post to Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632, or through Council’s website.
For more information on the Congupna Framework Plan, contact the Strategic Planning Department on 03 5832 9730.
