Changes to the kerbside collection service
The Victorian Government is standardising household recycling and waste services across the state. This includes the introduction of a fourth bin with a purple lid, to improve diversion of glass waste from landfill and increase resource recovery.
Based on results of an audit conducted on Greater Shepparton City Council’s bins at the beginning of 2021, Council are implementing a change to the collection frequency of kerbside bins commenced from March 2023.
The green lid bin will be collected weekly and the red lid bin fortnightly to reduce the large amount of food waste going to landfill.
