River of Words

Join RiverConnect and bush poet Mick Coventry in creating a River of Words at the confluence of the Goulburn and Broken Rivers in Shepparton. Mick is a locally renowned bush poet and member of Kyabram Bush Verse Group, and will teach you the tips and tricks of putting together your own pieces of bush poetry, using our rivers as a theme.

Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm Please arrive by 9:45am

Participants can then choose to be recorded while reading their poems. These recordings will be transformed into the ‘River of Words’ through links via QR code signs to be temporarily placed at locations along the Goulburn River shared path until the Festival ends. No previous experience or skill level required. Note: It is advised to wear appropriate footwear for walking Accessibility: The walk from parking area at Corner of Lincoln drive and Hassett street to the confluence is approximately 500 metres, or a 6 minute walk, along a sealed walking path.

If you would like to attend but have limited mobility, the team at RiverConnect can provide transportation from the parking area to the confluence.
