Greater Shepparton City Council would like to thank residents for their cooperation during the Balaclava/Verney Road intersection works.
Over the past weeks installation of the new water mains was completed and Council’s contractors are working with Goulburn Valley Water to coordinate decommissioning of the old water main and switching over to the new water mains.
Three switch overs have already been completed with three more to be completed by the end of May. Goulburn Valley Water will contact the affected properties directly in accordance with their usual works practice.
The additional water mains replacement on Balaclava and New Dookie Roads tenders will be advertised in the coming weeks. These relocations are required to accommodate indented parking plans.
Gas Main Relocation Works
In preparation for the civil contract, gas main relocation works are also required. Works across Verney Road and Hawdon Street are scheduled to occur this month. Further information will be provided in the near future.
Civil Works Contract
Council plans to have a recommendation put forward at the May Ordinary Council Meeting to award the contract to undertake the works to upgrade the intersection from the existing roundabout to a signalled intersection. If the contract is awarded works are expected to commence in June 2019.
For more information contact Council’s Project Department on 5832 9535.
