Construction on the leachate ponds at the new Cosgrove 3 landfill site is on track with work continuing to plan.
The leachate ponds are designed as two separate ponds which will provide efficient leachate treatment while providing an adequate safety net for unforeseen storm events.
The ponds are constructed with a HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) layer on top of a cushion of geotextile, and both are placed over a one metre thick clay layer.
These leachate ponds will service Cosgrove 3 for the whole of life providing efficient landfill waste disposal.
Watch the latest time lapse footage showing the construction of leachate ponds which will service the new Cosgrove 3 landfill.
