Draft Merrigum Community Plan 2018 Released for Feedback

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking feedback from community members on the Draft Merrigum Community Plan 2018, to identify and prioritise projects and actions for the next five years.

The first Merrigum Community Plan was developed in 2004 to provide a mechanism for community members to contribute to and actively promote the revitalisation and development of the township of Merrigum in a positive way. The Merrigum Community Plan underwent a full review in 2012 involving extensive community consultation.

Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Director Community Amanda Tingay said “The Merrigum community are invited to provide feedback on the draft Community Plan 2018. We would like to hear about key actions within the plan that you like as well as identifying anything that is missing from the plan.”

“Community planning is important as it empowers our communities to drive their development and identify their own priorities for their town.”

The Draft Merrigum Community Plan 2018 has been developed from community feedback, led by the Merrigum Community Plan Group and includes eight actions under the strategic areas of community, environment, business, assets and advocacy.

For further information about the Merrigum Community Plan review, please contact the Merrigum Community Planning Chair Sally Horan on 0408 674 097 or Greater Shepparton City Council’s Community Development Officer Michelle Bertoli on (03) 5832 9700.

Community members are invited to provide feedback by 5.00pm on Monday 16 July 2018.

The draft plan can be found here.
