Expressions of Interest for Independent Member

The Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking an independent external member for its Chief Executive Officer Employment and Remuneration Committee and invites expression of interest for this position.

The Chief Executive Officer Employment and Remuneration Committee is a newly formed committee made up of four Councillors (including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor) and one external independent member.

The committee will meet at least twice a year with an allowance paid for attendance for the external member. Membership appointments are for a four year term.

The purpose of the committee is to assess the CEO’s performance against agreed key performance indicators and strategic objectives, perform a formal annual review, make recommendations in relation to remuneration and where necessary oversee recruitment of the CEO position.

The successful applicant will have qualifications or extensive experience in human resource management including executive recruitment, and/or senior business or government experience. They must have a good understanding of governance as it relates to employment law and Executive level appraisals and remuneration.
