Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic and committed community members to form the new Shepparton Australia Day Celebration Committee, with expressions of interest closing on 31 October 2017.
Members will help celebrate what’s great in Greater Shepparton as the Committee plans for the 2018 Shepparton Australia Day celebrations.
Greater Shepparton City Council Manager Economic Development Geraldine Christou hoped to see many expressions of interest from Greater Shepparton residents.
“Residents who are enthusiastic, passionate about our community and committed to social inclusion are invited to register their interest. Event management experience is an advantage but not essential,” said Ms Christou.
The positions will run for a two year term over 2018 and 2019, and include meeting over the summer months to plan the Australia Day celebrations.
The Shepparton Australia Day event objectives are to celebrate the achievements of our community through the Australia Day Awards, welcome new Australians with a Citizenship Ceremony and provide a free inclusive family friendly event that celebrates the diversity of our community.
Residents can find out more about how to become involved or register their interest by contacting Jeremy Bianco, Major Events & Business Officer, Greater Shepparton City Council on 03) 5832 9471 or via email at jeremy.bianco@shepparton.vic.gov.au
