The RACV Victorian Tourism Awards Gala Ceremony took place on the 16 November at the Melbourne Convention and Events Centre, with a solid representation from our regions tourist operators and events.
The Shepparton Festival were delighted to take out bronze place in a very competitive field in the category of ‘Festivals and Events’.
The Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre was also a finalist in their very competitive category against some of the best across the state. Phillip Island and Bass Coast Visitor Information Centre Network took out top honours. Echuca Moama Visitor Information Centre and Sunbury Visitor Information Centre were also announced finalists.
The success of the Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre can be attributed to the hard working team of staff and volunteers that pride themselves on welcoming everyone to the region.
After a fire destroyed the centre in 2013, the Visitor Centre is stronger than ever and delighted to be recognised up there with the best in the tourism industry in Victoria.
The awards are about business excellence, innovation, industry professionalism, collaboration and initiative.
The entry process was quite involved process, with an online 30 page submission and onsite inspection. Matched with an industry mentor who works alongside the Visitor Centre in the months leading up to the submission.
Over 150 entries in 32 categories. By entering the program businesses show a strong commitment to Tourism Excellence.
Gala ceremony where over 1000 industry stakeholders from across the state gather to celebrate, network and share the success of their industry, peers and colleagues.
