The pet adoption day aims to find new homes for cats and dogs, with all animals being vet checked, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas.
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Manager Citizen Services Laurienne Winbanks said adopting an animal from the Shepparton Animal Shelter can be a rewarding experience.
“The Council’s Animal Shelter and PetStock staff emphasise matching the right home with the right animal, aiming to ensure the animal’s new home is long lasting,” Ms Winbanks said.
“Staff are available to assist those who need help adopting a homeless pet and PetStock will have everything necessary to bring your pet home such as a food, a bed and toys.”
Greater Shepparton residents can visit PetStock in Benalla Road to learn about the process and benefits of adopting a shelter animal, as well as meet animals looking for a new forever home.
Animals for adoption are also listed on Council’s website here.
