New Payble option gives Greater Shepparton residents more flexibility in paying rates

Tuesday 14th of April, 2026,
Greater Shepparton City Council has introduced Payble as a new way for residents to pay their rates, providing more choice and flexibility with payments.
Payble provides enhanced payment flexibility, allowing ratepayers to choose from a variety of payment options, including weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payments via direct debit from a bank account or credit and debit cards. The system provides reminders before payments are due, with everything online, secure and quick to set up.
Payble supports Council’s commitment to improving customer experience and providing modern digital tools, however traditional payment methods are still available ensuring ratepayers have a range of options to suit their needs.
Council’s Director Corporate Services, Chris Teitzel, said Council was committed to making it easier for residents to pay their rates in a way that suits their circumstances.
“We know that everyone’s financial situation is different, and Council is always looking for ways to give our community more flexibility,” he said.
“Introducing Payble provides another convenient choice for people who prefer to spread payments across the year, while still meeting their rates obligations on time.”
Payble complements Council’s current payment options, which include:
Paying by four instalments
Ten monthly direct debit instalments
BPAY
Pay through the mail or in person at the Council Office or any post office
Centrepay and payment plans for eligible ratepayers.
Council encourages anyone experiencing financial difficulty to contact the Rates and Revenue team early to discuss available payment plans or support options under Council’s Financial Hardship Policy.
Payble is optional and ratepayers can continue using their preferred payment method.
