Greater Shepparton City Council has completed the installation of four new floodlight towers at Princess Park Oval.
Installation of the new flood lighting towers was completed by Council as part of its Capital Works Program along with a contribution from the Victorian State Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Fund of $250,000 The works included installation of four floodlight towers for the main oval, upgrade of the existing power supply to the reserve, and a new main switchboard.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Phil Hoare said “we are fortunate to have another sporting field with 200 lux lighting. The new lights at this popular facility will greatly enhance its functionality, particularly during the darker winter months”.
“We are pleased to be able to deliver this project despite some challenges due to COVID-19. I would like to thank all the sporting groups and users for their patience. We have been able to achieve a great result which our community will soon be able to enjoy once restrictions have eased”.
