Shepparton Shake-Out is getting closer with the Shepparton Showgrounds being transported back in time to the 1950’s from 3 – 5 November.
This family friendly event has something for everyone with loads of food and trade stalls, bars, classic hot rods, fashion parades, pin up competitions, and headline international rockabilly acts performing the greatest hits from the 1950’s. A giant slide and bungee trampoline will add to the entertainment for kids of all ages!
Some of the bands performing include Cadillac Drifters, Scotty Baker, Rusty Pinto and from the USA Deke Dickerson and Marti Brom.
This three day event is proudly brought to you by Rockabilly King Productions, Greater Shepparton City Council and Shepparton Show Me.
Rockabilly King Productions Event Director Arthur Matsakos said “we are very excited to be able to bring all of the best Rockabilly and Rock & Roll talent in Australia back to Shepparton again to this amazing venue. Interstate and international visitors who came to the first shakeout were astounded at the brilliant showgrounds arena and the facilities. It is certainly one of the best in Australia for sure.”
“Supporting the event will be 50s lifestyle traders and food vendors with retro flavours and this time we have introduced a $10 general admission pass for adults to encourage everyone to bring their families along. Kids are free. This festival has the potential to be the biggest event of its type in Australia and to be held in Shepparton is a testament to the drive and initiative of the local council and their events staff,” he said.
Greater Shepparton City Council Acting Director Sustainable Development Geraldine Christou said “this is the second time Shake-Out has come to Shepparton it is great to have fantastic music and entertainment at the Showgrounds once again. It is exciting to think at dusk the showgrounds will be transformed into a drive in movie theatre to feature a very appropriate movie Grease.
“Our team are working hard to bring the biggest and best events to Shepparton and we are hoping the Shepparton Shakeout will become an iconic event for the region in the years to come. I encourage everyone to check out the website and come along,” she said.
Shepparton Show Me Chairman Simon Quattrocchi said "the SSM committee are excited to be part of this iconic event for Shepparton. The Shepparton Shake-out 1950's will be an invigorating event for this region bringing international bands and attracting visitors from across Australia and a chance to dress up. It will be a great opportunity for local businesses to take advantage of the increased visitors to Shepparton."
