Council’s Healthy Communities team are launching the Team Get Mooving challenge this June.
The challenge encourages individuals to engage in healthy habits and incorporate active travel into their daily routines, with a goal of 10,000 steps per day.
Individual and team entries of all ages and abilities are welcome. Participants are able to self-select a school, sports club or workplace to donate their steps to help them win a variety of prizes.
Participants are encouraged to keep track of their steps through an activity tracker, app or smartwatch.
“This year’s challenge is about being together, even when we’re apart. Aiming for 30 minutes of physical activity per day, participants are encouraged to walk, run or cycle to help them meet the challenge goals,” Director Community Kaye Thomson said.
“Prizes are available for individual and team entries, as well as schools, sports clubs and workplaces, based on the number of steps allocated to them.”
Registrations close on Sunday 31 May 2020, 5pm. To register, visit the Get Mooving website..
The challenge commences on Monday 1 June 2020 and ends on Monday 29 June 2020.
