Early Years Learning Framework

The Early Years Learning Framework conveys the highest expectations for all children’s learning from birth to five years and through transition to school.

It communicates these expectations through the five following learning outcomes:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Children have a strong sense of well being
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective learners

The Framework provides broad direction for teachers/educators to facilitate children’s learning.

Children’s learning is ongoing and each child will progress towards the outcomes in different and equally meaningful ways.
