COVID-19 Disaster Payments
If you can't go to work and earn an income because you have been directed to quarantine for 14 days, there is a $1,500 payment available.
Are you isolating waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test? There is a $450 payment available.
Eligible workers who lose work due to the lockdown can access the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 Disaster Payment, as can sole-traders who do not qualify for Victorian Government support programs. The payment is $450 for people who have lost 8-20 hours work over seven days or $750 for 20 hours or more of work lost.
Business owners who want help applying for the Commonwealth COVID-19 Disaster Payment can access the Business Victoria Concierge Service on 13 22 15.
Support for businesses
The Victorian Government has announced a package of automatic cash grants that will provide regional Victorian businesses with the support they need following the extension of the current lockdown to the whole state (21 August in regional Victoria until 11:59pm on 2 September).
Grants to be paid through the new $146.6 million initiative, jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments, will be made automatically without the need for regional businesses to make an application.
Deep cleaning for businesses
The Victorian Government is offering a Deep Clean Rebate for businesses who have to conduct a deep clean as a result of being identified as an exposure site.
A rebate of up to 80 per cent of cleaning costs (capped at $10,000 per site) is available to eligible businesses where a person suspected or confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID-19) has been on the premises or worksite when they may have been infectious. The rebate will be given through a grant application process.
Council's COVID-19 Deep Cleaning Grants have been established to complement the Victorian Government’s COVIDSafe Deep Cleaning Rebate.
The Victorian Government's Coronavirus website has information to assist businesses who have been identified as and exposure site, including cleaning requirements.
