Greater Shepparton City Council is excited to announce three upcoming workshops, for local community groups and not-for-profits seeking to upskill and unlock their future potential.
In summary:
The three workshops include Grant Writing, Project Management and Oversight (on a shoestring), and Unlocking the Potential of your Not-for-Profit Organisation.
The Grant Writing session will guide participants through the process of applying for a grant or funding proposal, and using guidelines, templates and assessment criteria to create a compelling project plan. The workshop covers topics such as the creation of a realistic budget with in-kind contributions acknowledged, the use of data and evidence to support the proposal, as well as the importance of creating timelines, backing letters and other evidence of community support. The workshop will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
The Project Management and Oversight session will help participants understand the art of planning, organising and guiding projects to success. The workshop will help support groups to set clear goals and determine roles and responsibilities while keeping a close eye on the budget. Participants will better understand key areas such as risk management, procurement, stakeholder engagement and the three models of project management.
The Unlocking the Potential of your Not-for-Profit Organisation session will help community to focus on the steps they can take to use an entrepreneurial mindset and unlock the potential of their organisation. The workshop will also cover important topics such as evaluating current business activities for viability and future potential, canvassing community and other stakeholders for business ideas and options, as well as seeking government and expert advice where appropriate.
All sessions will be conducted online via Zoom and the Zoom link will be provided to your booking confirmation email. Bookings are essential as there are limited spots available.
For more information or to book, please contact Council’s Community Wellbeing team on 5832 9472. The workshop details are listed below.
