Green Organic waste contamination rates in Greater Shepparton have continued to do well in April, recording a 1.7 per cent rate.
Greater Shepparton residents have done an excellent job in sorting their waste in 2020 with contamination rates having an all-time low in February of 1.38 per cent.
Council thanks all residents for their efforts which have resulted in an outstanding reduction in contamination rates in the municipality. To see such consistent results year after year shows Greater Shepparton residents are thinking carefully about which bin they are using for their waste.
Putting organic waste in the green lid bin has many benefits, primarily protecting our environment and diverting waste from landfill which has long term benefits for us all.
For more information about contamination, what can and can’t go in the green lid bin and more visit our Waste and Recycling page.
