Greater Shepparton City Council, in collaboration with the Greater Shepparton Amplify Youth Committee and the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District, is excited to announce the success of Mosaic Festival, which attracted approximately 600 people to Victoria Park Lake for an evening of culture, music, dance, food and activities.
The free community festival lit up the lake precinct on Saturday 13 September, transforming the area into a hub of live performances, multicultural food and hands-on workshops designed to celebrate the region’s diversity.
Visitors enjoyed stage performances from multicultural musicians and dancers, food trucks with international flavours, and activities for all ages.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the festival was a proud showcase of the region’s diversity.
“Mosaic Festival brought our community together in a way that truly reflected the many cultures that make Greater Shepparton such a vibrant place to live,” he said.
Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District CEO, Sam Atukorala, said Mosaic Festival was a wonderful success that showcased the strength and richness of Greater Shepparton’s multicultural community.
“The strong community response showed how much people value opportunities to come together, learn from one another and celebrate the cultures that make our region such a vibrant place,” he said.
Greater Shepparton Amplify Youth Committee Member, Batul Mgoter, said being involved in Mosaic Festival was a rewarding experience that showed the impact young people can have in shaping community events.
“Our aim was to make Mosaic Festival fun, welcoming and inclusive, and it was amazing to see people of all ages enjoying the performances, food and activities,” she said.
Council thanks everyone who attended Mosaic Festival, as well as the many individuals and groups who contributed to its success. Special thanks are extended to the Victorian State Government Amplify program and the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District for their funding support in making the event possible.
Community feedback on Mosaic Festival is now open. Share your thoughts and help shape future events by visiting Shaping Greater Shepp. Survey closes at 11.59pm on Wednesday 1 October 2025.
Young people aged 14 to 25 who are interested in making a difference are encouraged to join the Greater Shepparton Youth Committee and play an active role in shaping community initiatives. For more details, contact the Community Wellbeing team on 5832 9700 or email youth@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
