Greater Shepparton City Council advises the $170,000 Quick Response Grants pool has been expended and the grants are now closed.
The Quick Response Grants were introduced as one of 21 measures that made up Council’s Stage 1 Economic Response to COVID-19 package, announced in March this year.
The grants of up to $3,000 aimed to assist local small-to-medium businesses transition to e-commerce and online activity to continue to operate during COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
Initially, the grant pool was set at $120,000, but after an incredible response to the grants, a further $50,000 was approved to the grant pool on 8 May 2020.
The further funds have since been expended, bringing the grants program to a close.
A total of 60 local small-to-medium businesses received funding under the program.
The grants ranged between industries from tourism, cafes and beauty therapy to professional services and retail.
The successful businesses utilised the grant in a range of ways to improve their e-commerce capabilities including the development of websites, online sales, associated software, training and improved social media presence.
